Gazprom Arena

The Gazprom arena football stadium (until December 8, 2018 — Saint Petersburg stadium) is located on Krestovsky island, on the site of the demolished Kirov stadium. The author of the Gazprom Arena project is Japanese architect Kise Kurokawa. Construction of the stadium began in 2007. The facility was officially commissioned on December 29, 2016. The unique design of the stadium is a bowl of stands with a sliding dome with a diameter of 286 meters, supported by 8 masts. The stadium hosted matches of the 2017 confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA world Cup. European championship matches will also be held in 2020, and the UEFA Champions League final will be held in 2021.

Cable-stayed bridge WHSD

The bridge is a part of the Southern overpass of the WHSD main course, providing a connection between the Kirovsky and Vasileostrovsky districts. It is the only vehicular cable-stayed bridge in the world with pylons tilted inward at an angle of 12°. Such an architectural solution resembles the silhouette of a divorced bridge, one of the main symbols of St. Petersburg.

General Admiralty Building

The building of the Main Admiralty is a complex of Admiralty buildings in Saint Petersburg on the 2nd Admiralty island, located on the Bank of the Neva river, a significant monument of Russian Empire architecture. Originally built as a shipyard, it was rebuilt in the XVIII—XIX centuries. Since 1718, the Admiralty Board has been located here (since 1827 —the Admiralty Council), and in 1709-1939 — the Model chamber (since 1805 — the Maritime Museum).

Krestovsky Island

Krestovsky Island (Finn. Ristisaari) is located in the western part of the city, in the historical area called the Islands. The area of ​​the island is 4.2 km². Former names of the island: Khristoforovsky Island (1741), St. Natalia Island (1717). There are two metro stations on the island - Krestovsky Island and Zenit. There are many legends about the origin of the name of the island. According to one of them, even before the foundation of St. Petersburg, there was a chapel with a large cross on the island, so the island was given the name "Krestovsky". According to another version, when the mansion of Natalya Alekseevna was erected on the island, the builders found a huge cross in the ground. Also, the island could be called "Krestovsky" because of the cruciform lake in its center.

Kunstkamera

Kunstkamera is a cabinet of rarities, currently the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences (MAE RAS) is the first museum in Russia established by the Emperor Peter the Great and located in St. Petersburg.
It has a unique collection of antiquities that reveal the history and life of many peoples. But to many, this museum is known for its “special” collection of anatomical rarities and anomalies. The Kunstkamera building is from the beginning of the 18th century. a symbol of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Kunstkamera Tower is crowned by the Armillary sphere.

Lakhta center

Lakhta center is a public and business complex located in Lakhta (the historical part of the Primorsky district of Saint Petersburg), the key object of which will be the headquarters of PJSC Gazprom. The total area of the complex is 570 thousand m2.
The 462-meter tall Lakhta center tower is the northernmost skyscraper in the world and the tallest in Russia and Europe. In Europe, the height is second only to the structure-Ostankino TV tower (540 m). Lakhta center is one of the five most eco-friendly skyscrapers in the world. The opening date of the complex for visitors will be determined after the completion of finishing and improvement works. Construction of access roads to Lakhta Center and improvement of embankments is planned to be completed by the end of 2020.

Betancourt bridge

The Betancourt Bridge is thrown over the Malaya Neva and the Zhdanovka River, connecting Vasilievsky Island and the Petrogradskaya Side. Traffic on the bridge was opened on May 13, 2018. The bridge is non-drawable, 6-lane, 38 m wide and 923 m long. The bridge has a 3.5 m wide cycle path and a pedestrian sidewalk, but there are no public transport routes. Betancourt Bridge is one of the transport bypass objects of the city center. The working name of the bridge was "Serny" - after the name of the island over which it passes. Towards the end of the construction, the bridge was named after Augustine de Bettencourt (1758-1824) - an architect, builder, lieutenant general of the Russian service and one of the organizers of the transport system of the Russian Empire. According to Betancourt's project, an institute was established, now known as the University of Railways (PGUPS).

Peter-Pavel's Fortress

A special place of the complex is the Peter and Paul Cathedral. All Russian emperors are buried here, including the remains of the last tsar of the Russian Empire. An angel rises on the spire of the cathedral, according to legend, in his hands he grips an invisible sword that protects the city and its inhabitants from all evil spirits.
The fortress can be seen on almost all of our routes.

Rostral Columns

Rostral Columns are located along the sides of the Exchange building. There are rostrums, the nasal decorations of old ships, on its trunks. The reliefs of anchors distinguish itself on the red plaster. There are two sculptures on every column. They represent the rivers of Russia - the Neva, the Volkhov, the Volga and the Dnieper. The columns were port lighthouses once, illuminating the path of ships in the Neva Bay. We can see the special bowls mounted on tripods on its tops. The fire was burned there. Previously, the oil was use to maintain the fire, now gas is supplied to the vases. Nowadays, rostral columns are lit only on the public holidays.

Stadium "Petrovsky"

"Petrovsky" (until 1992 - V.I. Lenin Stadium) is a stadium located in St. Petersburg, on the Petrovsky Island of the Malaya Neva. From different sides the island is washed by the Malaya Neva and the Zhdanovka River. Zhdanovsky bridge connects it with the Petrograd side. Spectator stands accommodate 20 985 people. The nearest metro station is Sportivnaya.The home stadium of the Zenit club in 1994-2017. Spare for the Zenith-2 farm club. In the 2017/18 season, it was the home arena of the Tosno football club.

Hermitage

The State Hermitage Museum (until 1917 - the Imperial Hermitage) is a museum of fine and decorative art, the second largest art museum in the world. The main museum complex includes six interconnected buildings - the Winter Palace, the Reserve House of the Winter Palace, the Small Hermitage, the Large (Old) Hermitage, the New Hermitage and the Hermitage Theater. 365 halls are open to them. The museum also has at its disposal the General Headquarters, the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, the Old Village Restoration and Storage Center and the Menshikov Palace.

Cruiser Aurora

The cruiser played a special role in the revolutionary events — October 25, 1917 — the Aurora’s salvo fire marked the beginning to storm the Winter Palace: the Provisional Government was arrested and the Bolsheviks came to power. It is the participant of the three wars and the most turbulent events of the 20th century. The cruiser Aurora is still the active ship of the Russian Navy and a branch of the State Naval Museum. The future naval officers have the practice here. The ship is an object of the cultural heritage of the Russian Federation.
